So there’s this ‘industry insider’ site called Missinfo Chrissy that purports to be shedding light on some secrets and gossip of the Australian music industry. And while we’d prefer to pay her/it no mind and therefore no attention, if her latest droplet of gossip is to be believed then we’re set for some visits from major dance music players later this year.
As reported by our indie brethren over at FasterLouder, the Missinfo site first revealed some word promoters of the Soundwave festival were branching off with something called Harvest, a supposed festival touring the country this November with a rumoured starting lineup that featured electronic legends Portishead. While the prospect of securing notorious tour hold-outs Portishead is enough to get our blood pumping, fresh updates have alleged that the Harvest lineup will also feature Aphex Twin, The Flaming Lips and Janelle Monae. Okay then!
While we could sit here and speculate about unrealistic festival lineups till Livid relaunched, some keen detective work from FasterLouder has found evidence that the Harvest festival is indeed legit, with three scheduled dates on the cards thus far adding credence to the rumours. Check out their story for a full run-down which includes the nice detail that all the acts listed as rumoured artists for the festival have clear schedules on the proposed Harvest festival dates.
Harvest festival dates:
Melbourne – 12th November
Sydney – 13th November
Brisbane – 19th November
