When inthemix brought you the news yesterday that upstart Australian festival Ultra Session Beats 300 had added a wave of new acts to its shockingly diverse lineup – including new names Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, Kevin Saunderson and Tonite Only going up against EDM vets like Kosheen, Tall Paul and Joey Negro – you could almost hear the orchestra of brows wrinkling across the country.
While initial reports confirmed that Ultra Session Beats 300 (or USB) was indeed a legit new festival on the Australian event market, punters were right to be skeptical about such a mélange of artists ‘booked’ for the tour as inthemix can now confirm that the entire festival run has been cancelled.
Through a merry-go-round of phone calls today inthemix was able to get in touch with the organisers behind the new festival and receive confirmation that the plug had indeed been pulled on the operation. Though organisers 300 Entertainment were unable to make an official statement at the time publishing, it is inthemix’s understanding that things went south for the festival due to some relationships with booking agents that turned out to be illegitimate, spoiling the groundwork already laid for the USB festival.
For a stinging reminder of what we’ll miss now that Ultra Session Beats has been canned you can see the lineup that never was below.
