Since appearing in 2004 with their debut opus Last Exit, Canadian duo Junior Boys have been perfecting their intoxicatingly icy take on electronica, spinning out cold, dark gems that manage to eke emotion out of sequencers and expertly programmed beat patterns.
Now onto their fourth effort with It’s All True and Junior Boys are well and truly masters of what they do with the record bearing that signature Junior Boys sound that we’ve become some accustomed to over the last seven years. Itchy Fingers begins at a deliciously languid pace before Junior Boys hit the arpeggios and get at least to the outskirts of the dancefloor, Second Chance is all about boasting how funky and squiggly they can get their synths and closer Banana Ripple is a splendid nine minute house jam with bright synths and Jeremy Greenspan’s winning croon.
But that’s just our take on it! You should and now can decide for yourself how It’s All True rates in Junior Boys already esteemed catalogue as inthemix is streaming the whole entire LP right here! Yep, you can hear the full record before it hits Australian stores this Friday July 1st. What’re you waiting for?
