While September might look far away from where we’re sitting, there’s something extra to look forward to besides Defqon.1 and Parklife now with news reaching ITM today that Chicago icon DJ Funk will be dropping in for a club visit.
The pioneering force behind ghetto house – as driven home on his radical Ghetto House Anthems and Booty House Anthems compilations – the Chicago don known as Charles Chambers shows no signs of giving up the game some 30 years later, still releasing and remixing on the regular – indeed word is that he’s now working on an album potentially to be released on Busy P’s French electro label Ed Banger. That sorta makes sense considering he turned in that remix of Justice’s Waters Of Nazareth.
Here are the full dates for the DJ Funk club tour;
September 16 @ Billboard, Melbourne – ROLL CALL
September 22 @ Rocket Bar, Adelaide
September 23 @ Ambar Nightlclub, Perth
September 24 @ Oxford Art Factory, Sydney
