10 years might as well be a century when it comes to dance music. And though styles, trends and haircuts might’ve changed in the last decade, the impact of The Avalanches’ seminal debut album Since I Left You hasn’t lessened since its release in 2000 – indeed last year ITM contributors ranked it the #1 release of the past decade.
Knowing just how incredible the album’s legacy remains today, The Avalanches’ record label Modular has announced details of a special 10th anniversary re-issue of Since I Left You – going on the worldwide release date in 2001, that is.
After reaping so many well deserved accolades, The Avalanches’ sample-centric masterstroke will receive the deluxe treatment from Modular in the coming months with the full original LP accompanied by a bunch B-sides and early Avalanches demos as well as a host of freshly cut remixes from a diverse list of revisionists like MF Doom, Jackson and His Computer Band, Canyons and [aa.artsit:Black Dice]. No doubt it’ll be a bumper package worthy of honouring the record’s legacy.
While we wait for more release info included the expanded tracklist and official release date Modular have shared a lost gem off the Since I Left You single in this Stereolab remix which you can get into below.
