With the selection process now in its final weeks, the She Can DJ initiative is close to announcing the top ten contenders. The ten will be mentored through the Ambassador program, with one ultimate winner receiving a global recording contract with EMI and much more.
The ambassadors are an integral part of She Can DJ, and EMI has chosen experts from right across the music industry. This week a new batch of names has been added to the panel. Kicking off the new list is Amsterdam-based Bart Cools, who oversees the marketing campaigns for big-hitters David Guetta, Deadmau5 and the Swedish House Mafia.
Also on board is Jason Ellis, Director of renowned label Positiva since 2001. Positiva, which is owned by EMI, has an illustrious history that stretches back to the early ‘90s, with recent Beatport blockbusters from Alex Metric, Afrojack and Guetta to name but a few. The third newly-announced ambassador is Aussie expat Sarah Main, who has been a fixture of Pacha in Ibiza for a decade and knows a thing or two about cracking it overseas.
Next on the list is Simon Coyle, Co-Director of Totem Industries. As you’re no doubt aware, Totem is the juggernaut behind two of our biggest dance festivals, Stereosonic and Creamfields. Last but certainly not least is Libby Clark, all-round tastemaker and one of the co-founders of this very website. Also joining She Can DJ is Rimmel London, which has come on as the project’s exclusive make-up partner.
