NO MORE LEAKS! THE FULL THING HAS LANDED AND IT IS A MONSTER LINEUP! CHECK IT OUT!

While Sundays are usually reserved for stumbling home, headaches and retracing your footsteps from the night before, today’s last moment of the weekend saw at least a few eagle eyed dance fans around the country in fits of excitement and anxiety as a sneak peek at this year’s Stereosonic festival lineup made its way onto the interwebs.

First appearing this morning on the inthemix forums (where else?) was a photograph taken from a train station in Sydney featuring a billboard for this year’s festival proudly trumpeting a first taste of the big name’s assembled for the 2011 tour including Armin van Buuren in the headline spot, Afrojack, Avicii, The Bloody Beetroots back in DJ mode, Ferry Corsten LMFAO, and Benny Benassi and Carl Cox returning after last year’s triumphs. We all know that the full lineup was and is still coming this Friday, July 22nd but as festival promoters Totem Onelove explained some eager beavers on the end of the billboard poster distributors jumped the gun and let these acts slip through early.

“Due to a miscommunication between the billboard company and the company responsible for installation, a portion of the Stereosonic lineup was released onto billboards in Sydney,” a press statement issued to inthemix from the Stereosonic organisers explained. “Rumours are circulating that the billboard company staff were so excited about this years they just had to share it with Sydney’s commuters a week early. We are quite amazed at how quickly this was shared by patrons on twitter, facebook and inthemix.com.au forums. At least this shows the effectiveness of billboards at key spots in Sydney even on a bleak and cold Sunday morning.”

It’s good that they can see the light side in this little info-slip and clearly the early lineup leaks have caused a stir online among festival fans with many people inundating ITM crowing loudly about their favourite picks thus far. But that’s just the first few acts on what we know is going to be an exhaustively large lineup and for their part the Stereosonic festival crew have promised even more good news when the FULL OFFICIAL 2011 lineup is released here on inthemix this Friday, July 22nd and 9AM AEST.
