Thought you’d have to wait until the arrival of summer and the lift-off of this year’s Stereosonic festival for the dance calendar to kick into high gear again? Not the case! As was seen over this past weekend there was a stack of EDM activities to get into in clubs across the country. Before we get onto the dancefloor though we’re heading over to Perth for the return of the On The Bright Side festival which this year grabbed a handful of acts from Splendour In The Grass including UK rising star James Blake to excite the local punters.
As equally anticipated as Blake’s arrival in Australia was the tour for Spanish innovator Henry Saiz who landed in the country over the weekend on the steam of his fawned over Balance 019 compendium. As evidenced by the eclectic tastes in his ITM Guest List, Saiz’s appeal knows few boundaries and once he got you in the club he kept you there until the whistle blew.
Similarly enthralling was the presence of UK bass gun Marcus Intalex who hit our clubs to showcase his 2011 artist album 21 on his own Soul:r imprint.
The good action doesn’t end there with more locals and internationals firing on all cylinders around the country including white-clad trance don Roger Shah, throwback kingpin Sash! bringing no-holds-barred ‘90s anthems and the inthemix Awards club tour getting off to a flyer with Tom Piper and Andy Murphy in Melbourne.
There is still more club love to come into inthemix so keep checking the photo galleries section from your city and relive the weekend!
