Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Australia-bound Big Boi had been arrested in Miami for three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. TMZ reported that customs and border patrol dogs found ecstasy pills, MDMA powder and Viagra as Big Boi was leaving a cruise ship and that the rapper did not have a prescription for the Viagra.
Never fear, though – as it stands, Big Boi is still on his way for a four-date theatre tour around the country. A press statement from tour promoters Niche Productions is below.
“In light of the reports this week surrounding Big Boi’s arrest in Miami we can confirm at this stage things are 100% going ahead as scheduled and Big Boi is looking forward to performing in Australia for all his fans for the upcoming tour.
We look forward to bringing Australian audiences Big Boi’s live show with his full band, along with supports Theophilus London and Thundamentals at the following dates and cities:”
Friday 26 August – The Tivoli, Brisbane
Saturday 27 August – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Friday 2 September – The Palace, Melbourne
Saturday 3 September – Metro City, Perth
