Remember when we informed you that the mighty Ice Cube would be coming back to Australia in September to remind us of his greatness and not his acting career? Yeah, well, if you rock up to those dates that were announced for the ‘tour’ then you’re more likely to see a literal cube of ice than Ice Cube himself as the N.W.A icon has denounced the tour as not happening.

“Please don’t be fooled by the September tour rumours,” reads a post on Ice Cube’s official Facebook page. “Rumours are circulating that Ice Cube is touring Australia in September. IT’S NOT TRUE. The Ice Cube tour is scheduled to hit Australia in APRIL 2012.”

Friday September 16th @ AIS Arena, Canberra
Sunday September 18th @ Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Thursday September 22nd @ The Espy, Melbourne
Friday September 23rd @ The Seaview Hotel, Brisbane

apparently all venues are still the same..and according to facebook..tour has just been 'postponed'

As part of the team that is bringing Ice Cube to Canberra I can tell you that our show is still going ahead at the AIS Arena on a new date - APRIL 12 2012.
Tickets from the September date have been transferred to the new date and anyone that cant make it we are giving full refunds via Ticketek now.

We paid a lot of money to get Cube down to Berra and even more on setting up and promoting the show.

inthemix I really would have liked to have heard from you prior to submitting this story as the Canberra show tickets never went off sale or anything the show was just moved to another date and was at no point a hoax??
I could have supplied you with much more detailed info regarding the whole situation.

Hey Dean,

Thanks for the comment - that clarifies a few things and I've amended the story to reflect that.

Unfortunately we couldn't have contacted you because we were provided with no real information on the tour other than stumbling on the dates through Ticketek back in July. If you do have press releases/tour announcements that you think would be relevant to ITM then please drop us an email. I'd prefer to have something official than not.

As for the 'hoax' part of the story, that was a product of the post on Ice Cube's page which describes the announced tour as a 'rumour', and I don't think it's unreasonable to draw that conclusion from his statement. No harm meant, mate. Looking forward to the real deal in 2012.

Thanks so much for ammending that Dave I appreciate it mate.

Its been panic stations with the date change here as we are only a small company but now that the new date is announced and tix have been transferred we can get back to business.

I will get in touch with the manager of the tour and ask that he keep you guys informed and updated as news comes to hand.
Any chance you could PM me your email hook and I can forward it on.

Cant wait till we get it happening in 2012 and thanks again for fixing that up mate!
