After almost seven years DJing alongside Daniel Banko as Rollin Connection, Melbourne identity Darius Bassiray is set to go it alone. While Rollin Connection remains in the capable hands of Banko, Bassiray will be focusing on a solo career as a DJ, producer and label boss.
Following releases on the likes of Fade, Dieb Audio, Proton Music and Pinksilver, Bassiray started his own label Text Book Music in 2010. He’s also concentrating on his new weekly label night at Miss Libertine and event brand Electric Owl, which launches on Saturday 9 September.
“Dan Banko & the Darkbeat crew wish Darius Bassiray all the best,” reads a statement from the duo. “They will continue to support Darius on the solo front as much as they can, and look forward to what the future brings.”
Darius Bassiray and Daniel Banko will embark on one final nationwide tour together as Rollin Connection in November, with stops already confirmed in Sydney on the Agwa 011 cruise and the Strawberry Fields festival in Victoria.
