Following last night’s heaving final at Sydney’s ivy, a winner has been named in EMI’s She Can DJ search. That DJ whose life is about to get very busy, very fast is Sydney identity (and top-voted female in the 2011 inthemix awards) Minx. The major prize is nothing less than a global recording contract with EMI Music, with plenty of extra trimmings on the side.
In a matter of days, Minx will be hop a plane for a whirlwind trip to London and Ibiza, where she’ll rub shoulders with EMI’s leading dance stars the Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta. Her next move will be a She Can DJ branded mixed compilation, set for release in November 2011.
In 2012, Minx will release her own artist album. Like we said: very busy, very fast. “After tonight, I’m so excited for the future and this once in a lifetime opportunity that I am grabbing with both hands,” she said in a statement. “I can’t wait to work my ass off and make everyone involved and those who have already supported me proud.”
