Named NSW’s favourite festival for another year running in the 2011 inthemix awards, there was plenty riding on Defqon.1’s third Australian edition. Over the weekend, Q-dance once again pulled out all stops to put together a spectacular event, solidifying its reputation with Defqon.1 devotees and converting plenty more.
Our man on the ground Angus Paterson, known round these parts as angy, was once again floored by what went into the show. “Defqon.1 this year matched the sprawling scale, superb production and attention to detail that punters have enjoyed since its debut in 2009,” he says. “Its polished approach to organisation puts other events to shame, plus a set-up at the mainstage perhaps even bigger than last year’s colossal design.
“Noisecontrollers and TNT were standouts at the RED Stage, though there was plenty else to see across the Regatta Centre including some industrial techno at sundown courtesy of Tommy Four Seven, and some particularly excellent hard trance sets at the ORANGE Stage. The ultimate raver’s day out.”
The official photos from the 2011 edition of Defqon.1 are now here for you to marvel at, so dive in below.
