Having recently wrapped up a triumphant European summer, the Swedish House Mafia is setting its sights on an even more bombastic year ahead. Over the weekend, the trio announced a pair of ‘One Night Only’ shows that confirm just how big these guys can go. Saturday 16 December sees Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello headlining New York’s Madison Square Gardens. Then on Saturday 14 July 2012 they’ll aim for 65,000 ecstatic revellers at the Milton Keynes National Bowl.

The Mafiosos made the announcement with a big budget video (unfortunately that budget didn’t stretch to a spell-checker, but anyway) that positions the superstar DJ team as “the best kept secret in the world”. As the main message goes: “If you don’t know who they are…don’t come”.

For eagle-eyed observers, the video contains an intriguing final tile that’s sure to make the hearts of Australian fans beat a little faster. Something is set ‘to be continued’ in Australia, with the URL 101011SHM.com leading here. We know the guys are all about codes and intrigue, so is 10 October 2011 the day we find out some major news? Guess we’ll just have to wait and hope…

i do not see the appeal of having all 3 as opposed to just having one of them like past festivals (since they are just carbon copies of eachother). just money wasted on all 3 that could be spent on other acts

pffft what a fucking joke, the Swedish house mafia are the biggest group of posers, i mean their name says it all. What are three guys doing on stage when it takes one to mix? I will tell you what they are doing, they are jumping around, drinking champagne and getting paid a truck load of money to act like musicians. Most of the punters out there know absolutely nothing about music technology, and the simple equipment that this mafia use (3 cdjs and mixer) wow i mean so technical, so much talent.

what makes everyone think its FMF? the trailer is for their "live" (lol) show,at various cities around the world. it's gonna be a stadium gig, not a festival.

i think it will be FMF. As silly as it sounds, i don't think these guys are big enough and it's a big risk to fly them here for a one night only show or something. I don't think a 40 000 stadium would sell out. They will slot nicely into the headline spot on FMF tour, especially if the predicted Tinie Tempah is on the lineup too.

Dart Punk use a a couple of synths and ableton, but the branding of being a robot and a huge sound a light setup is still there. Above and Beyond, meh okie not as commercial as shm, but otherwise getting a bit stale. one of those guys should have started playing a piano on stage a long time ago.

actually, i think mattpolo8 might be right. It's probably was a bit presumptious to think SHM could sell out a big stadium event on their own in Australia. It could well be FMF.

I for one am looking forward to the part where they drink champagne as a pre mixed cd makes sure all the drops are in sync with the co2 cannons.
Agree that this show would have to be a festival, most venues would be too small or large to accommodate just SHM.

I saw this and wanted to hate on them so bad... the fact that it actually made me go look it up and watch that SHOCKING video made me want to even more. But I held back.
@alistairrr - I agree with you but I reckon you shouldn't have mentioned their equipment. I have 2 decks and can do magical shit, its not about your equipment, but it doesn't take 3 people to use it! You're absolutely right.
@ the rest of you... SHM are shit, there is nothing else to it. They are all the same, and the message of this is 'try be as much like everyone else as you can', which is shocking and makes me love trance so much more. I hope they do come for Future and use up the whole house budget... trance DJ's are all great and don't cost much so it just means more space for me to dance from 8 onwards!
Something I've learnt is hating doesn't really get you anywhere. I still hate, don't get me wrong, BOYYYY do I hate. But spend your time more productively and take the positives (:

Tiesto show January 2010: Best concert of my life. Tiesto Stereosonic december 2010: he got wasted, calvin and ingrosso poured champagne on his decks and adagio for strings finale was cut and stopped.

Whoever below said that its a risk for them to do a big solo show in australia... I disagree. They are going to sell out.. its the biggest demand in Aus, has not happened yet. Meanwhile armin has a 2nd home here.
