With all the talk of Sydney needing more dedicated spaces for electronic music, there’s sure to be Hallelujahs ringing out across the city at the news of One22’s opening. This Saturday 28 January, the doors will open on the new CBD venue, with an impressive roll-call of upcoming guests. Celebrated producer Gabriel Ananda is on board for the launch party, while upcoming international names include Border Community virtuoso Petter and the mighty Kirk Degiorgio. However there’s also a concerted focus on local talent, as you’ll see below.
So, what’s the story with One22? Here’s how they pitch it: “One22 will provide a no-fuss approach to its events with a massive sound system, limited venue capacity, reasonable entry prices, friendly, passionate crowd and most of all some of the most amazing music your ears will take in.” See the breakdown below of what’s happening in the first six weeks of One22 – and you can certainly expect more of this calibre.
