Well, it looks like that buzz about a superclub down at Sydney’s The Star wasn’t just hot air. Overnight it was revealed that the new venue is set to be Marquee, an offshoot from the renowned Las Vegas destination. The Tao Strategic Group is overseeing the 1,200-capacity club – built as part of a $870 million redevelopment – which will have three main rooms and a floor that overlooks Sydney Harbour. Its planned opening is March 30 2012.
The Tao Group has said the club will have an “American feel,” however the developers “went out of our way to give it a Sydney vibe and adapt to local market. It will be under 20,000 square feet and a feel like a hybrid between Marquee NY and Vegas.”
Since opening in 2011, Marquee in Vegas has established a large cast of A-list regulars like Chuckie, Gabriel & Dresden, Ferry Corsten, Dirty South, Erick Morillo and Kaskade.
