Not content with simply staging Australia’s most loved indie music event, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival has been busy programming music at Field Day in London (no association to Sydney’s NYD party), and in doing so have (hopefully) dropped a few hints for what to expect come Laneway 2012.
Before heading over to London, the Laneway crew put on a huge party at SXSW in Austin with a bunch of bands that included the prodigious Mount Kimbie, US indie pop gem Twin Shadow and the much-hyped soul singer Jamie Woon – all of who would look very comfortable on a Jerome’s bill next year.
And if that was enough to get the Laneway rumours rolling, the festival has also programmed a stage at London’s famed Field Day. Both Jamie Woon and Mount Kimbie made the cut on the Jerome’s stage again, alongside Splendour-bound sensation James Blake, The Horrors, Connan Mockasin and 2:54. It all happens in Victoria Park, London, on 6 August 2011.
Field Day’s jealousy-inducing bill also includes Carl Craig in his 69 guise, James Holden, Michael Mayer, Matthew Dear and many more elite electronic names. Agonise over the line-up here.
