Lupe Fiasco forms DJ duo; hooks up with Pharrell

Poor Lupe Fiasco has been having some major label-woes of late. First, Atlantic Records allegedly meddled with his third (lacklustre) album Lasers and now, they’re apparently refusing to release Food & Liquor II, the sequel to his debut 2006 debut.

But that doesn’t mean Lupe is giving up on recording. While he’s waiting for the record label to sort their proverbial shit out, the rapper is focussing on two new projects. First up, he’s formed an electro DJ duo called Soundclash with DJ Sky Gellatly. The pair have recorded an EP titled Don’t Drop the Flag which is set to be released, for free, soon.

But bigger news is that Lupe is also recording an entire album with N*E*R*D rapper Pharrell Williams. Not much has been revealed about the collaboration, just an update on Lupe’s website announcing the album is “coming soon”. Onwards and upwards, Lupe!
