Listen: Air's latest album, 'Le Voyage Dans La Lune'

If anyone was qualified to score the restoration of the first ever science-fiction film, the 1902 production Le Voyage Dans La Lune, it was easily French duo Air. Having proven themselves masters of the dreamy score with their soundtrack for The Virgin Suicides and contributions to Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette; the pair were the perfect choice to provide music for the silent film.

After a good few months of hype, the score can now be streamed in full. At about 31 minutes long, it’s not a particularly long record – but with guest vocals from Au Revoir Simone and Beach House’s Victoria Legrand, Le Voyage Dans La Lune (translation: A Trip to the Moon) is a quality-over-quantity type deal.

Head over to NPR to stream Air’s latest – then try and catch the movie, opening in (limited) release tomorrow.
