With the 2003 Love Parade having gone ahead contrary to early reports that it would be cancelled, it seems in 2004 the same problems have occurred once again, with news surfacing that the parade is looking doubtful due to a lack of funding. Yahoo News reported that organisers of the parade recently made the public statement, “It is with great regret that we have to announce there definitely won’t be a Love Parade in Berlin this year”. The main reasons obtainable for the cancellation seem due to a lack of funding, with the 2003 parade having made a loss of $615,900, despite having attracted 750,000 revelers.
