In the lead up to the inaugural Heineken Found@Thirst Asia Finals, the deserved winner, DJ Yin from Hong Kong, came up tops at the second of the six Found@Thirst seminfinals, held at Zouk Kuala Lumpur.
The semifinal was a close contest among four Found@Thirst DJs, winners in their respective nations – Matt Harris (New Zealand), DJ Bo (Vietnam), DJ Airmix (South Korea) and DJ Yin (Hong Kong), who were all vying for a spot at the regional Found@Thirst Finals that will be also held at Zouk KL, Novermber 20th.
The winner was selected based on points given by the panel of esteemed judges as well as SMS voting from dance aficionados at Zouk KL. The winner, DJ Yin, who had the last set, was definitely a crowd pleaser, rocking the main room with hard beats and sending the packed dance floor into a whirling frenzy.
Also deserving of a notable mention, NZ’s Matt Harris delivered a solid state of disarray with his mix of drum & bass. 19 DJs in the Asian Region, including Andrew Padula, have put themselves to the test at the Inaugural Asian Found@Thirst Competition, to be judged by Pete Tong, Miss Motif, Danielle Davoli at the Grand Final in Kuala Lumpur. Andrew will be competing for his spot at the semifinals in Singapore.
The next series of semi-finals will take place at Taiwan, October 16th, followed by Singapore on October 23rd and Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City on October 26th and Hanoi on October 29th.
