'Crazy Frog' ringtone dance remix grabs UK number 1 spot ahead of Coldplay

In a further demonstration of the rapid rise in popularity of mobile phone ringtones over ‘real’ music, a rather horrifying dance remix of the Crazy Frog ringtone (yes, you know the one) has beaten globally renowned rock band Coldplay’s new single ‘Speed of Sound’ to grab the number 1 spot on the UK music charts.

Combining the ‘Axel F’ theme song from 80s film Beverly Hills Cop with the traditional Crazy Frog ringtone, it is estimated that German dance act Bass Bumpers have sold in excess of 150,000 copies of the single in the UK in the past week.
