Notoriously outspoken Border Community chief James Holden chatted to Skrufff this week about his latest DJ Magazine top 100 interview, though uncharacteristically refused to expand on his typically catty comments.

“Today I am feeling happy and positive so I’m not going to say anything offensive to anyone,” said James, “And let’s not talk about the Top 100 – if we ignore it, maybe the stupid thing will go away.”

The 20 something Oxford educated club star (who slipped one place in this year’s poll to 37) mocked almost every DJ in the 100, declaring “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, DJs should hang up their headphones when they hit 30,” and also revealed an unhealthy obsession with hamsters (‘it’s not an obsession, I just think they’re cool’,James told Skrufff).

Elsewhere in the poll, No-More-Mr-Nice-Guy Brian BT Transeau took exception to the magazine’s generic questions and got even angrier when about the rise of digital DJ tool Ableton.

“I have had the piss taken out of me for four years for using a laptop,” BT stormed, “and now I have the honour of my superstar DJ friends calling me for tech support- constantly. This interview sucks my balls,” he raged.
