Iconic electronic outfit Depeche Mode are set to co-headline the infamous Coachella music and arts festival this coming April 29th and 30th in southern California. The news was revealed by Depeche Mode frontman David Gahan at KROQ-FM’s Almost Acoustic Christmas and then later confirmed by a spokesperson for the festival.
The British synth-rock group will be playing on the first day of the festival in a move to promote their new album ‘Playing the Angel’ which has received highly favourable reviews from critics and fans alike, with much of the success attributed to their single ‘Precious’.
In its seventh year running, the Coachella music and arts festival will take place at the 50,000-capacity Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. Previous headliners have included last year’s Coldplay, Morrissey, Bjork, Radiohead and countless other musical superstars.
