As Coachella, the festival on everyone’s lips came to a close this weekend, the Scissor Sisters brought fans to the perfect festival high. The New York outfit pulled out all the stops to close this year’s Coachella, swinging the crowd into a frenzy as they played all of their shining dancefloor stunners including ‘Laura’ and ‘Take Your Momma Out’, along with new tracks from their next studio chapter.
But it was singer Ana Matronic’s closing speech which landed the band in a little hot-water from festival organisers, as she gave into rumours and cast doubt upon the festival’s future. “We could be one of the last bands to play Coachella,” she announced. “They’ve lost the lease on this site, have you heard that? So we need to dance on some graves tonight!”, she concluded. The announcement was promptly answered by festival spokesman Mitch Schneider, who dismissed the claims at once. “It was just a rumour, it’s not true at all”.
The Scissor Sisters are to appear in Australia as they headline this year’s Splendour in The Grass this July, keep an eye to ITM for updates on their impending tour down under!
