Those crazy French kids are at it again. Turning heads all around the world with their self titled debut album, Nouvelle Vague – primarily comprised of Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux – have released their long awaited second album ‘Bande A Part’ in North America (even though it’s been out since June in Europe on Peacefrog). And to celebrate this occasion, they’re packing up their nylon string guitars and kicking off a North American tour.

If you haven’t heard of Nouvelle Vague, it’s definitely something to keep an ear an out for. Basically, post punk and 80s new wave classics are stripped away of their original aesthetic, and then put together again in luscious bossa nova and jazz versions, interpreted through the lips of French and Brazilian chanteuses. It may sound gimmicky but the end result is a sound so warm, it makes you want to curl up in their voices – even though the original track would have had you going crazy on dance floors on other occasions.
