The UK ‘nu-rave’ pioneers are among the collaborators on the upcoming release from the world’s biggest and best rock/electronica crossover act, due out June 9. We Are The Night is the name of the upcoming new Chemical Brothers album and the Klaxons will appear on the track All Rights Reversed, Other collaborators include Willy Mason who provides vocals on Battle Scars, as well as Midlake who appears on the album’s closing track The Pills Won’t Help You Now. Ali Love is also locked in for a collaboration.
The album will be the follow up to 2005’s Push The Button, which cemented the status of the Chemical Brothers as a force to be reckoned with over the long term. There’s little news so far as to what we can expect from We Are The Night, but apparently we can expect another shot of the group’s trademark psychedelic sounds: a spokesman for the band has marked off the release as featuring “tracks of psychedelic warehouse party acid music” that are “euphorically melodic and uncompromising.”
The last time we saw the Chemical Brothers tour Australia they were a headline act on the 2005 Big Day Out festival circus. Now news yet of another Australian tour, but they’ve just announced that they will headline the ‘Other Stage’ at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK this year.
