Beastie Boys return for instrumental LP

New York’s finest posse of whiteboy rappers the Beastie Boys will be back this year with something a little different. The Mix-Up will be an album composed of instrumental tracks in the vein of 1996’s The In Sound From Way Out.

The album features guest performances from ‘unofficial fourth Beastie’ Money Mark as well as percussionist Alfredo Ortiz. If you’re in the States they’ll be playing a series of instrumental shows in addition to a slate of regular gigs that will be kicking off in late May. There has also been whispers that an alternate version of the project may be released with added vocals at some point down the tack. .
