So you think Australia’s Modular stable of artists have tight links with fashion? This was never more the case than when indie/electro crossover stars Van She provided the musical backdrop to a premier event at Berlin’s Fashion Week over the weekend.

Rudolf Dassler by Puma presented its upcoming Spring Summer 2008 collection to a packed crowd of German and international fashion press, and the show was opened by none other than our local boys who played a selection of their tunes for the models to walk strut the catwalk to – with none other than supermodel Irina Lazareanu the first to exit the runway. The festivities then continued at a boutique in the heart of the city where Van She kept the party going, DJing to a crowd of over 600 guests. Brushing elbows with the European fashionista, indeed!

Otherwise it’s been unusually quiet on the Van She front for quite a while since the news that the boys were holed up in the studio late last year, but we can cross our fingers and hope that we’ll be seeing a debut long player from the Sydney group in the not too distant future.

Every time I hear about Van She and their links with fashion and then the fact that they haven't finished their album yet, I want to stab them that little bit more
