DJ Mag kick off Top 100 voting

Voting in the 2007 DJ Mag Top 100 poll kicked off today, with the race now on for the world’s biggest DJs to fight it out for a place in the winner’s list. Each year the listing of DJs is hotly contested, with many viewing it as the most accurate gauge of global popularity in the dance scene.

German trance legend Paul Van Dyk has stood strong in the top stop now for 2 years, beating out Tiesto’s 3 year reign at #1 previously. In 2006 a massive 217,102 votes were cast overall, making it the biggest year yet (up 93,057 on 2005). It equated to votes for a staggering 50,431 different DJs. Interestingly, DJ Mag claim that out of the 243 recognised countries in the world, in 2006 votes were cast by 229 of them!
