Fast rising Aussie star Tydi – ranking #12 in last year’s inthemix50 poll – has pulled off something of a coup on the worldwide dance stage, recently signing with global trance superstar Armin Van Buuren’s record label Armada. “It was actually a huge unexpected surprise!” said Tydi on the honour. “I was in the studio one night and felt like trying something a little different… so I started writing a track that was a cross between progressive trance and minimal techno. The result was my new tune called Meet Me In Kyoto”.
Upon completing the tune Tydi promptly sent it off to several labels internationally, and found himself in the middle of a bidding war, with three separate labels offering to sign it. He eventually settled on Armada, having been a longtime fan of Van Buuren’s work. “Armada is my favourite record label. I could not have asked a better label to release my music… I’m very excited!”
On the strength of Meet Me In Kyoto, Armada have also offered to sign future Tydi productions. We think congratulations are in order!
