Listen closely and you might hear the collective cheer of UK tabloids – Amy Winehouse has once again found herself at the centre of a media shit-storm.
As reported by the Guardian, police raided the singer’s home after four men were arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in relation to a court case involving her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. Winehouse and her beau were out at the time (boozing?) and the fuzz had to force entry. That’s about the point where the story stops being salacious.
A spokesman said four men had been arrested in east London earlier on Thursday and were being questioned in connection with an alleged perversion of the course of justice. The spokesman confirmed the arrests related to next week’s trial involving Fielder-Civil and a second man, who both face charges of grievous bodily harm.
The raid had nothing at all to do with Winehouse and her hell-raising, bourbon-swilling, boyfriend-scratching ways, but just trying telling that to Hello magazine…
