Less than a week after her husband was put behind bars on charges of grievous bodily harm, Amy Winehouse has had a disastrous start to her 17-date UK tour.
Anticipation was high for her first stop at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, but it wasn’t long before things came undone.
Arriving late and obviously pissed, the soulstress only managed four songs in between stumbling about and dropping the microphone. When the heckles began, Winehouse retorted, “First of all, if you’re booing, you’re a mug for buying a ticket. Second, to all those booing, just wait till my husband gets out of incarceration – and I mean that.”
The following morning, The Birmingham Mail’s music critic called it “one of the saddest nights of my life. I saw a supremely talented artist reduced to tears, stumbling around the stage and, unforgivably, swearing at the audience.”
Punters vented their grievances on blogs and music websites, bemoaning the set’s 50-minute running time, the slurs and off-key singing, and the mass walkouts.

This makes me so mad! There are artists everywhere that work so hard to deliver a great performance. She's letting down her fans and doesn't seem to care. I would never pay to see that crap.
