We’re not sure how this one slipped by us in our Grammy nominations report, but it appears Melbourne producer-du jour Dirty South is in the running for one of the shiny statuettes.
The nod comes in the Best Remixed Recording category for his take on Kaskade’s Sorry for Ultra Records. It’s a typically straight-ahead electro house treatment from Dirty South, bearing all the hallmarks of his chart conquering Evermore remix.
He’s amongst a heavyweight field, too: Eric Prydz’s divisive re-edit of Pink Floyd for Proper Education, Benny Benassi’s electro tweaking of Public Enemy’s Bring The Noise, the Andy Moor ‘Full Length Mix’ of Delrium’s Angelicus and Carl Craig’s slowburn version of Junior Boys’ Like A Child.
Here’s the audio for Dirty South’s Grammy-nominated remix of Kaskade’s Sorry. Unfortunately you have to look at a ‘funky’ computer-generated skyline for the full eight minutes.
For a bit more colour and movement, check out the clip for Dirty South’s take on Evermore’s It’s Too Late.
