You know you’re hot shit when one of world’s most bankable pop stars writes a song for you – without prompting. Well, it has happened to Hot Chip, and the scribe is none other than Kylie Minogue.

The multi-million dollar girl was assisted by the UK five-piece in writing her latest album X, and it seems she felt compelled to return the favour.

“Kylie wrote a song for us,” Hot Chip vocalist and percussionist Joe Goddard confirmed to NME. “She sent it through our management to us – it was totally bizarre.

“It was the beginnings of a track – I think she wrote it and just thought, ‘This would be perfect for Hot Chip’, or possibly for collaboration.”

Goddard also hinted the track is not in the mould of a Kylie No. 1.

“It’s a crazy song. It’s industrial and clanging and even has farmyard animal noises on it. It’s the kind of music you’d never normally associate with Kylie.”

While the song will not be appearing on Hot Chip’s forthcoming record Made In The Dark, Goddard suggested it could make it onto album number four.

“When I’m allowed to send it around it’s going to change a few people’s ideas about her,” he concluded.

If Hot Chip had any brains they'd tell her to #uck off.As if Hot chip need little kyles. She should stick to her gay "anthems."

Nice one locky. Obviously you're happy to criticise the mainstream interpretation of Minogue's work but if you bothered to look a little further you'd see that she's actually done some fairly interesting stuff in her time. The obvious point of reference
