Where do you turn when your much-loved frontwoman leaves the band? For Bonde do Role, it’s as easy as M T V.

As previously reported, the Brazilian outfit was forced to cancel their January tour of Australia after Marina Vello suddenly called it a day. All was not lost though. In true entrepreneurial style, surviving members Pedro and Gorky signed on for an MTV reality show to find a new vocalist. In the end, they found two. Over 100 hopefuls auditioned, embarking on “an extensive course of Karaoke competitions, mud wrestling, crashing in Gorky’s garage for a week and performing for live audiences.”

The ladies who survived that rigorous induction are Ana Bernardino and Laura Taylor. They’ll be fronting Bonde do Role at Coachella in April, followed by a string of US dates. Now ain’t that a happy ending?
