It’s no secret that the man formerly known as Puff Daddy has a soft spot for Ibiza, but his new-found immersion in dance music just got a whole lot weirder. The hip hop heavyweight is staging a party at the Miami Winter Music Conference tomorrow night, where he will go head-to-head with Claude Von Stroke, The Martinez Brothers and Steve Angello.
In his video promo (included below), Diddy admits, “I have not been happy the past two years with the WMC, so I haven’t been there. But I’m making my big return.” His bash, humbly named The Main Event and held at Cameo Miami, sees the man embarking “on a tour de force mash-up like you’ve never seen before” alongside the aforementioned jocks. “The reason I decided to go head-to-head with these DJs is that they’re some of the most innovative DJs in electro-tech,” our host helpfully informs us.
If it’s anthems you’re after, though, Diddy don’t want ya. “If you’re into mother-fucking commercial dance music, this ain’t the place for you. No commercial dance music motherfuckers allowed this Friday.”
Check out Diddy’s video shout-out below. It’s quite something.
