As the age-old adage goes: attend EXIT, lose mind. Well, maybe we’ve paraphrased – but there’s no denying this Serbian festival (held in a 17th Century fortress, no less) is one of the world’s greatest. More names have now been revealed for the mighty Dance Arena, which can accommodate over 20,000 ravers between its 10-metre high ramparts.
As previously revealed on ITM, Sven Vath, Ben Watt and Claude Von Stroke were among the first names confirmed – but now the electronic bill is looking decidedly fuller. Despite Dubfire’s recent ubercoolische overhaul, Deep Dish is set to make a now-rare appearance as a duo. They’re joined by fellow double acts 2ManyDJs/Soulwax, Booka Shade and Kruder & Dorfmeister. Also on board are DJ heavyweights Laurent Garnier, Francois K and Tiga, with many more sure to follow.
While all that’s going on, the likes of Paul Weller, Primal Scream, M.I.A. and The Sex Pistols will be doing their thing on one of the myriad stages. It’s not hard to see why John Digweed called it “one of the best festival gigs that I have ever done.”
EXIT runs from 10 to 13 July in Novi Sad. To torture yourself further (or actually plan a holiday), check out the festival website.
