When Tricky popped up on the Splendour in the Grass first round announcement last week, many were left scratching their heads wondering what the famed trip-hopper had been up to of late. Having not released an album since 2003’s ‘Vulnerable’, he’s set to make his welcome return on July 5th with a brand new LP, ‘Knowle West Boy’.

Recorded in London and Los Angeles, the album was produced by Tricky himself, along with current studio-boffin Switch, who helped out on additional production and mixing duties. With Switch having released some of the most exciting and forward thinking dance music in recent memory (including work on M.I.A. and Santogold albums), it certainly bodes well.

The album will be preceded by the single ‘Council Estate’, set for a digital release in late June.

1. Puppy Toy
