Having told inthemix all about their new direction in an interview just last month, it seems mega-selling Aussie dance act TV Rock have made inroads on their way to seeing the dream realised, having just returned from six weeks abroad, playing shows around the globe, signing new music to one of the house scene’s biggest independent labels along the way.
Grant Smillie and Ivan Gough’s extended international tour saw them playing shows in Miami for the 2008 WMC, as well as in Canada, the UK, Russia, France, the Netherlands and throughout Asia. Their most recent release, ‘Been A Long Time’, was also signed by Axwell’s label Axtone, and it’s currently getting a workout on dancefloors with luminaries like Roger Sanchez, David Guetta, the Swedish House Mafia and Bob Sinclar all playing it regularly.
The Axtone label are no strangers to the Aussie production sound, having released Dirty South’s huge track ‘Let It Go’ last year. TV Rock’s debut for the label will include remixes from Roger Sanchez’s protégé (and recent Australian visitor) Laidback Luke, as well as one from the label kingpin himself; Axwell.
