Bollywood film director Prabhakar Shukla confirmed that he’s planning to make a film called Rave Party about the recent rape and murder of British teenager Scarlett Keeling in Goa, though denied his movie will be only about the 15 year old’s killing. “Goa is a tourist paradise, but I want to show the darker side of the popular tourist spot. People like watching reality; so I have decided to show reality in my film,” he told Indian website ThaIndian.com. “I will surely show the corrupt officers in the film. But I will also show how the drug mafia exploits tourists and what happens at rave parties,” he promised.
The Indian director’s announcement came as more details began to emerge of the mysterious death of Russian policeman Eugeny Kuzmin, who was found dead in his hotel room in December. The Times Of India revealed this week that the 25 year old officer had been sent to Goa by Russian authorities on an undercover mission to investigate persistent reports of Russian mafia operating in the state, which the Times suggested have elements of truth. “The Russian brain behind the drug trade in Goa is a Disc Jockey (DJ) who resides in North Goa,” the paper quoted a local ‘shack owner’ as claiming. “He operates in the coastal areas of Morjim, Arambol and Ashvem in Pernem taluka with the help of locals,” the anonymous source said.
In more Goa mafia news, Fiona MacKeown, the mother of murdered Scarlet, told reporters she knows the identity of the man who killed her daughter and urged India’s elite police force the CBI to bring Scotland Yard into the case. “We have had confirmation that a certain person is involved. He is a powerful person with money,” she said. “I am waiting for the CBI inquiry to start and I will tell them everything I know. It would explain a lot – why the police have tried to cover it up.”
