When Gallic electro type Alan Braxe (pictured) overran his allotted set time at Barcelona’s Primavera Festival last week, he made the mistake of cutting into DJ Assault’s slot. Bad idea.
After making repeated requests for the Frenchman to move on, the ghetto-tech don (pictured below – would you fuck with him?!) resorted to a bit of physical coercion. Apparently he pushed Braxe against a speaker stack and helpfully yelled, “I’m from Detroit homeboy!”, much to the delight of fans.
The resulting fracas, which ended in DJ Assault triumphantly claiming the decks, was captured (of course) on some dude’s camera phone. However, this being PLUR-ific dance music, they eventually hugged and made up – with Assault even spinning Braxe’s classic co-production Music Sounds Better With You at 150 BPM. Touching, ain’t it?
And here’s (part of) the dust-up for your vicarious pleasure.
