Australia’s finest proponents of electro-pop are making leaps and bounds towards introducing their sound to an international audience, with Sneaky Sound System recently inking a deal with 14th Floor Records to have their music released in the UK and Europe. 14th Floor is one of the UK’s fastest rising independent labels, home to artists as diverse as The Wombats, Damien Rice and Biffy Clyro.

The band’s first UK single release will be an updated version of ‘Pictures’, with Rich Costey – who has worked with Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand and Muse – giving the track a freshen up for the British market. Having set Australian radio’s on fire in 2007, the song looks set to achieve similar success in the UK with BBC Radio 1 presenters Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe, Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Rob da Bank all singing its praise. It’s also been picked up by Capitol Radio, XFM and MTV.

This weekend the band play the mother of all festivals, Glastonbury, followed by massive Irish festival Oxegen in a few weeks time. ‘Pictures’ is released in the UK on July 14th, followed by their debut album on July 21st. They’ll also return to tour Europe and the UK later this year.

Don’t forget the band head back to Australia in August to launch their second album, you can catch them on tour proudly presented by inthemix along the east coast!
