Chemical Brothers play Ibiza for first time in 14 years

After a staggering 14 years away from the legendary Iberican party isle, world conquering electronica duo the Chemical Brothers have announced they’ll make a long awaited return this summer to headline a special event in August for We Love Sundays at Space.

The party is set for August 10th and will see the Chems descend on Space to celebrate the club’s momentous 19th birthday. They’re playing an exclusive DJ set at the club and it’s the first time they’ve appeared on the island since their ill-fated performance at Cream in 1994 (when they were kicked off the decks for not playing funky house!)

“The Chemical Brothers are really one of the last of the great dance acts to still be putting out wicked and relevant dance music,” says We Love’s Mark Broadbent of the duo. “They first came to our attention in the heady days of acid house, this year being the 20th anniversary of the acid house explosion seems like the perfect time for them to return to Space!”

Similarily excited, We Love summer resident Busy P of the Ed Banger label remarked; “Getting the Chemical Brothers at Space is like driving with John Travolta and Samuel Jackson in Pulp Fiction! It’s gonna be dirty, sweaty and of course crazy.”

So, if you’re going to be anywhere near Ibiza in mid-August this year… we can’t think of anywhere else you’d rather be. It’s a party of epic proportions in the making!

They were amazing at Fuji Rock Festival last year. Don't know why the future set sucked so much.
