Britain’s #1 broadcaster Radio 1 have given Judge Jules and Kissy Sell Out better slots and dumped rave-tastic veteran Dave Pearce and trance star Eddie Halliwell in the latest programming changes. The scheduling shuffle, prompted a somewhat ambiguous response from Eddie Halliwell, in two press releases, the first issued by Radio 1, the second by his publicist.
Speaking on the BBC’s official statement Eddie said; “with these new changes, I have decided to take this opportunity to move on” though in his own press release seized the initiative. “I have decided to finish my Radio 1 weekly commitment to concentrate 100% on my number 1 priority, DJing,” he clarified. “As my show grew, Radio 1’s demands did also. Broadcasting from London and additional pressures have made it increasingly difficult to maintain a weekly commitment, leaving me with no other option but to finish the show. I’ve had a fantastic time working with everyone at Radio 1, but it has, and will always be secondary to my sole number 1 passion, DJing,” said Eddie.
Dave Pearce adopted a more traditional response declaring (on the official release); “It’s been an incredible 13 years at Radio 1… it’s time to move on but I have some exciting new radio projects to come,” while Jules told Skrufff he’s delighted with his own new slot. “Just to confirm, I’ve moved from 1-3am Friday nights to 11-1am which is an improved slot,” he said. “I’m naturally very happy with, as it’s totally in tandem with my musical style,” said Jules.
Coincidentally, the earning potential and status of being a Radio 1 DJ was emphasised recently by the station’s richest dance identity, Pete Tong, who announced he’s teaming up with uber-powerful US agency the William Morris Agency. “Under the new division, dubbed William Morris Electronic, Tong will collaborate with the Los Angeles-based talent agency in signing, developing and representing electronic acts,” Billboard reported. “As well as creating and programming electronic music programs.”

If his radio 1 sets were as bad as his Future music set in Melbourne 08 - I'd say it was a good thing for Eddie to concernrate on "his number 1 priority" LOL
