Pendulum win over metal heads

It’s no secret that all-conquering live drum & bass act Pendulum have sought to expand their profile on a global scale following the release of their sophomore release In Silico earlier in 2008. Although the response from dance fans has been somewhat tepid, on the flipside the critical acclaim Pendulum have received from the rock and metal scene has been overwhelming.

Noted UK magazine Kerrang! recently nominated the live electronic-rock act’s song Propane Nightmares as one of the year’s best singles, and they’ve also managed to win over US radio – which is unheard of for a ‘dance act’ – on college radio. “The song generates a sick reaction with every spin,” said San Francisco radio station Live 105’s music director Aaron Axelson on Beatportal.

Pendulum head back to Australia in early 2009 to tour with the Big Day Out, and one thing that’s certainly not in doubt is their credentials as a live act (take a look at the pics from their last tour for proof). In case you missed, check out the inthemix.tv interview with them from their tour of Australia in April below.

This makes a lot of sense. I know lots of different types of people that can get into Pendulum. They're very edgy. Hell, even my dad likes them!
