Since wowing us at Big Day Out this January, it seems LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy has been hard at work on something unexpected. With disco on the back-burner for the moment, he’s putting together a “classic rock record”.

Murphy told BBC’s 6Music he is working on the album with his long-time offsider Pat Mahoney, plus former members of folk-rock tearaways Hockey NightScott Wells and Paul Spranglers. There were also hints the project will call on the talents of members of Hercules and Love Affair. We’re not sure who’s going to bring the classic rock clout, but it should be intriguing nonetheless…

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
