Could Pete Tong be dance music’s answer to American Idol/X Factor creator Simon Cowell? He might not have the man boobs, but he has got his sights set on exposing new talent across the USA; American Idol stylee.

Upping the cheese factor a few notches he’s named the talent search Tong Factor, but thankfully there’ll be no dodgy audition tapes or camera crews involved. Instead, he’s calling for aspiring producers to present their music to him on either CD or USB stick at dates on his current US tour.

Tong has promised to listen to every single demo he’s handed, and then he’ll release the best of the bunch through Beatport on the brand new digital label he’s set to launch in the near future.
