Women who had unprotected sex with a man they met at Leicester, UK, night-spots the Burlington Club and the After Dark Club have been urged to seek HIV tests after health officials released details of a promiscuous club regular who was infected with the virus for at least six years.

“He doesn’t know [the number of women he had unprotected sex with],” Philip Monk, Health Protection Agency told the Guardian. “There is a possibility [that number] could be more than three figures.”

The After Dark Club recently closed and had notoriously violent reputation, with four people having been stabbed and seriously injured in fights at the venue between 2005 and 2007. ‘Return Of The Mack’ star Mark Morrison was also arrested at the club in 2004 after being involved in a brawl when he performed there, losing a US$36,000 pendant in the fracas.

On a positive note, in more HIV news, US AIDS fund-raising organization NextAid announced that DJ Dan, Louie Vega, Mr. V and Fred Everything will be amongst US DJs performing at benefit concerts in the States in December, to mark the 20th annual World AIDS Day (on December 1).

“Even in these tough financial times, we can all do something to help those less fortunate. In fact, we need to; it feels good,” Master At Work Louie Vega said in a statement issued this week. “And I just can’t think of a worthier cause than children whose parents have died of AIDS in Africa. NextAid is the right organization for anyone involved in house music to support.”
