Staged annually in Miami’s Bicentennial Park during the Winter Music Conference, the Ultra Music Festival continues to swell with each successive year.

While the line-up is primarily focused on big name DJs, there are always a few concessions for the live music fans. In 2007, The Cure famously played an epic set at the festival, and the year before that The Killers headlined, nestled incongruously amongst the likes of Tiesto, Paul van Dyk and Erick Morillo.

Ultra returns once again in March 2009, boasting the usual motherload of banner names. However joining the superstar spinners next year will be some of the indie scene’s fingest, including recent Oz visitors Bloc Party, alongside local reps The Presets and Cut Copy, The Ting Tings, Hercules & Love Affair and Simian Mobile Disco.

Squint a little and it could almost be a Big Day Out line-up! Get the full details at the Ultra Music Festival website.
